Gilgamesh

Amongst kings and Men

Tablet 1 “He who has seen everything, I will make known to the lands

I will teach about him who experienced all things alike.”

Rise and conquer the odds, He who saw the deep

A son, born of the gods, His walls beyond reach

I am your king Gilgamesh

Bow before me and you will be redeemed

I am your king

Gilgamesh

All the secrets and knowledge for me is revealed

Share your wealth and sons

Rejoice through the day until night is dawn

For I am the one your king without peer

(Chorus)

Silently they plead when their voices are suppressed

When anguish set sail to crash against their chest

Silently they plead to the gods they protest

Let this mystery unfold, lay our fears to rest

Aruru called the gods,

It is you who made thy man

With no rival, eminent and bold

And no other creature can withstand

I am your king

Gilgamesh

I leave no daughter or bride for her man

I am your king Gilgamesh

I am the shepherd of my people and this land

Rise you who born of the silence

Endowed with Ninurta strength

And roam the earth and wilderness

And take your place amongst kings and men

(Chorus)

Silently they plead when their voices are suppressed

When anguish set sail to crash against their chest

Silently they plead to the gods they protest

Let this mystery unfold, lay our fears to rest

Share your wealth and sons

Rejoice through the day until night is dawn

For I am the one your king without peer

Bow and obey

No we won’t

Quest for Eternity

Tablet 9 “I am going to die!--am I not like Enkidu?!”

You shall remember these words as they form and bind

Reluctant, too fragile to this madness confined

The path that you’ve chosen, the fear that you’ve fed

Will Lead you astray and leave you for dead

Collateral damage it can never be unwound

Wrath of the gods and mankind entwined

Your idols have fallen before everyone to see

only to rise once more, again it shall be

Chorus

Yes here I am

The free born slave

Here I am

The free born slave

I will live forever and never be forgotten

I will claw my way through the sands of time

Yes here I am

And I’m shattered and thrown far from your grace

A son who will never bow before your lies and disgrace

So fuck this illusion, this life’s constant confusion

Condemned for this life time but I’ll never be your slave

Chorus

Yes here I am

The free born slave

Here I am

The free born slave

I will live forever and never be forgotten

I will claw my way through the sands of time.

House of Dust

Tablet 7 “Men and cities are made of clay and turn to dust.”

Descending from hell, angel never came to be

And for that thou shall kill, his fellow human beings

We raise hell overnight, out of nowhere out of sight

We wage war to bring peace how stupid is this

In patriotism we cry, for war we shall die

Clueless, too blind to see, never asking why

Peace is just a lie and it’s never been a good day to die

War is what they plea, it’s the tyrants philosophy

As I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I take my last oath

As I take my first step in your house of dust I should have known from the start

(Chorus)

Where will it all end?

Right here right now

Where it began

What went wrong?

And what have we done

Propaganda on TV is all what you see

Death on the screen and every truth that they frame

Cries of the burning flesh and the sounds that drive you deaf

The enemy that you seek is no one but yourself

In patriotism we cry, for war we shall die

Clueless, too blind to see, never asking why

Peace is just a lie and it’s never been a good day to die

War is what they plea, it’s the tyrants philosophy

As I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I take my last oath

As I take my first step in your house of dust I should have known from the start

(Chorus)

Where will it all end?

Right here right now

Where it began

What went wrong?

And what have we done

Cedar Forest

Tablet 5 “They stood at the forest's edge, gazing at the top of the Cedar Tree, gazing at the entrance to the forest.

Where Humbaba would walk there was a trail.”

Rise

Tablet 6 Ishtar spoke to her father, Anu, saying: "Father, give me the Bull of Heaven, so he can kill Gilgamesh in his dwelling.”

I save my last breath as our worlds both collide

The elites are conducting the destruction of mankind

Narcissistic self-righteous so eager for power

As the numbers grow higher of lives they devour

Consumed by this darkness I strive for the light

And the hope that they shattered now buried inside

The anger I nurtured is nesting deep

It tears its way out, wakes up from your sleep

(Chorus)

Go proclaim your rightful place

You were born free not a slave

So subdue this pain

You’re better off dead than playing this game.

The damage went deep and the cancer spreads fast

Fragments of my past life and its shadows still cast

Haunted by darkness I once saw this gleam

Of hope once vanished I burst into a scream

Burn these shrines down and this hate they feed

You’re self-proclaimed idols, Their treason and greed

Stand up for yourself and stand up for your rights

Reclaim what is yours or die while you try

(Chorus)

Go proclaim your rightful place

You were born free and not a slave

So subdue this pain

You’re better off dead than playing this game

(Interlude)

Reaching for you, you’re still out of sight,

Your lack of faith choked my pride

Burn these shrines down and this hate they breed

Rise

These self-proclaimed idols, their treason and greed

Rise

Stand up for yourself, stand up for your rights

Rise

Reclaim what is yours or die while you try

Chorus

Requiem to a Reverie

Tablet 8 “He touched his heart, but it beats no longer.”

Thoughts are scattered in the absent mind

Leafs so green yet they fell untwined

So broken and fractured

Prayers unanswered

And once again time robbed you blind

So you held close to a memory

Far from the void of reality

Sequence of raptures

Where you are a hero not a martyr

Played on and on endlessly

(Chorus)

Bring these walls down

Set me free

And why I’m still lost

Lost in this reverie

And it’s killing me

Forsake me if you want

Cast me along the shores of your decay

You gave nothing and took it all

You only got yourself to blame

Lost and confused nothing left to lose

Another chance gone unused

So you held too close to a memory

Far from the void of reality

A sequence of raptures

Where you are a hero not a martyr

Played on and on endlessly

(Chorus)

Bring these walls down

Set me free

And why I’m still lost

Lost in this reverie

And it’s killing me

The Price of Everything and Value of Nothing

Tablet 10 “They established Death and Life, but they did not make known 'the days of death’.”

Desolation never looked so divine

When fates are sealed one at the time

The flesh is burnt and seared to crust

Scattered ashes with the blowing dust

How long will it takes us to realize

The lives we are giving honor nothing but lies

(Chorus)

How long will I have to wait

To watch my freedom wither away

Seasons have led us astray

And our spring turned to fall

Stripped to the bones

So numb and couldn’t care less

Suffocated by the fragrance of the septic flesh

It’s the greed not the need that made me cross the line

To claim what’s yours as if its was rightfully mine

(Chorus)

How long will I have to wait

To watch my freedom wither away

Seasons have led us astray

And our spring turned to fall

I hear your scream coming from the depth of hell

The rising anger magnifies the urge to kill

No touch of mortal can ease this pain

Provocative images drills through my brain

Stripped to the bones

So numb and couldn’t care less

Suffocated by the fragrance of the septic flesh

It’s the greed not the need that made me cross the line

To claim what’s yours as if its rightfully mine

Was it worth to live for this

Was it worth to die for this

Was it worth to live for this

Was it worth to die for this

chorus

Elements

Tablet 3 “Enkidu will protect the friend, will keep the comrade safe.”

Voices repressed

Secrets well kept

time we have

Broken and bent

Brushed too clean

Well adjusted

truth gone blind

Virtues corrupted

The tides of change

high and mighty

Shattered possibilities

Chorus

Shout out loud

We are the elements

No matter what they say

Choices are infinite

Silence creep

We confined it

Broken dreams

Collateral damage

The day grew bleak uninvited

Cause gone deranged and misguided

Path is blessed for miles stretched

Martyr words hollow quest

Chorus

Shout out loud

We are the elements

No matter what they say

Choices are infinite

Unity

Tablet 4 “One alone cannot.”

Hear me out

Kept in the dark far too long from the light

Choosing sides

My words are my bond and they are left for dead in your sea of lies

Forsaken through the endless lands I roam

They ripped my pride off then they asked me for more

Forever more I will stand my ground

I will carve my name entomb my pain

Break these walls

Chorus

I’m not your enemy or you the chosen one

So stop condemning me for all the things you have done

Virtues in doubt

Set to demise, compromise every truth you seek

So raise your fists, hold them high

Let them know you are still alive

Let’s break these walls

United we stand, divided we fall

Forsaken through the endless lands I roam

They ripped my pride off then they asked me for more

Forever more I will stand my ground

I will carve my name, entomb my pain

Chorus

I’m not your enemy or you the chosen one

So stop condemning me for all the things you have done

You spent your life away lost but now you get it

What’s yours is mine so why don’t you just admit it

You sold your soul long ago and I saw you do it

Bathed in these lies to which you are fully committed

Rebirth

What have we become

How will it be the end my friend

This pain, this shame

All this blood we shed

We kill, destroy

Allowing ourselves to enjoy others pain

Subjugate, annihilate

Will we be saved or is it too late

Chorus

The war is not over the worst is yet to come

Evolution led by rage

Marching to the sound of the drum

These chains, this pain we caused

And who is to blame

When the lines are crossed

We kill, destroy

Allowing ourselves to enjoy others pain

Subjugate, annihilate

Will we be saved or is it too late

Chorus

The war is not over the worst is yet to come

What have we become

Evolution led by rage

Marching to the sound of the drum

Will we save us from what we’ve become

Building walls across the sun

Came too close yet came undone

Will we save us from what we’ve become.

SHAMHAT

Tablet 2 “The harlot spoke to Enkidu, saying: Eat the food, Enkidu, it is the way one lives”

Uruk (Legacy)

Tablet 11 “Gilgamesh said to Urshanabi, the ferryman:"Go up, Urshanabi, onto the wall of Uruk and walk around.”

Only The Dead See The End Of War

Garden of Stones

The life you reaped, once had a name

The blood stains your hands, wrapped in guilt sealed with shame

I grieve for what turned to ashes and bones

Buried beneath the garden of stones

(Chorus)

Garden of stones

Garden of stones

When the night turn's dawn and haze rule's the sky

Death marched through the land, I heard the angel's cries

I crave what's mine and all that I've known

Now buried beneath the garden of stones

(Chorus)

Garden of stones

Garden of stones

Massacre

Change and evolution

Sick joy of demolition

Massacres of generation

And the Death bell still rang On

They want to kill the rest of the youth

They think we're weak, But we much stronger

They've start the war and we paid the dues

No we won't... fight any longer

(Chorus)

It's the change and evolution

It's the sick joy of demolition

They got the power to control my fate

I rather die than to disintegrate

And I will fight until the End of this

Just Set me free and let me breath

(One Step to victory or one Step to death )

My child is crying, my child is starving

His mother's heart inside is burning

They stole my land, they stole my home

They ripped my flesh, and stripped my bones

(Chorus)

It's the change and evolution

It's the sick joy of demolition

Message From Baghdad

As I grew Bounded to my Fate

Rewinding wounded memories I gained

So weak I can hardly breath

So Sick of The Lie's and tired Of Deceit

(Chorus)

Is it the god will or is it just a lie

People lives and others die

Never had the chance and they never will

Forever doomed as I wonder why

Dead bodies in walking coffins

Caged souls in their own prisons

They might forgot lost and forsaken

Fearless zombies, walk with the livings

(Chorus)

Is it the god will or is it just a lie

People lives and others die

Never had the chance and they never will

Forever doomed as I wonder why

The Unknown

the hate invades my eyes

can't relate or be vindicated

you are too blind

you said you'll end this

but you transcend it protect it

you promised but you lied

too late can't change my fate

chocked intoxicated with every word

you said reject and

purely corrupted you promised

but again you lied.

(chorus)

creeping inside my veins

pacifies me with an extra dose of pain

I can't contain it

living in your world enduring your

hate

discrimination

lies

violation

enslaves

generations

We must end this right now

I bleed inside my head

I died but still undead

sunk too deep I can't flow

submerged in the world of the unknown

(chorus)

creeping inside my veins

pacifies me with an extra dose of pain

I can't contain it

living in your world enduring your

hate

discrimination

lies

violation

enslaves

generations

We must end this right now

beatrice and porridges

Title by: elza A

Beatrice never liked porridges, but the porridges kept being served.

At the kindergarten where she went, her parents demanded

"You need to make a friend."

Oleg was his name, and he constantly wept.

"He doesn't like the porridge being served," Beatrice thought to herself:,

She got up and walked up to the little boy, and with the edge of her dress, helped him wipe the tears from his eyes.

"You don't like porridge, and neither do I."

And so, they held hands, and off to the playground, they went. The joy filled their hearts, even when the porridges kept being served.

And under the willow tree, they made a pact to never serve porridge in their grown-up house.

Little did they know, the cook had a scheme simmering beneath the lid.

"The principal must know of this," he thought:,

Knowing, his porridge never matched his wit.

Huffing& puffing, the principal said: "An example out of these children will be made!"

"We can't have our porridges discredited and sent back in their plate".

A mutiny has been discovered, and it shall be dealt with.

Which of you left their porridges untouched,, ungrateful for the blessings we give!

The room fell into silence and the children were afraid, as the cook stood behind the principal and viciously onto the children's faces stared.

But Beatrice immediately raised her hand, and with a voice tender yet firm, declared, "It is I who is being ungrateful to the porridge being made."

"I shall take the blame, and I alone, Oleg need not weep, for we will never be serving porridge in our grown-up home."

But Oleg continued to weep as years went by. See he liked porridges so much, and every time he wet his pants, he cried.

Cigarettes, Women, and Wine

Rinse the red line

From yesterday cheap wine

And fold the burnt holes of granny’s table cloth

The Cigarettes ashes, forming a scattered dunes

Buried beneath it, are countless treasures to be discovered -

Of the endless summers

Deep in the mid-day drinks and the one night lovers

And the dreams of war will soon be washed off -The shore- of liquor and beer and the drunkard snores

Reveries frozen in time

As the blood washes down the sink

From a broken glass of wine

summer vacation

Shorts, shorts, shorts

Yellow, blue, and polka dots

Kicking pebbles, swarming the museums, and the ancient ruins

Snap, snap, snap of every iconic street and alley within

Selfie sticks erected, towards the heavens,

Devouring everything close, far, and in-between

Pictures taken, never to be seen

Children high on gelato, running as if they want to escape,

Escape the middle-class midsummer wet dreams

And the boys will grow to be a fathers

And the mothers once were daughters

And the yellow shorts and polka dots

Will soon stretch around the waist

A dream worth the wait

Or so you thought.

Want to see magic?

Just like that, it went poof! The nothingness dispersed! And everything manifested before his eyes and leaked onto his soul.

Everything was there, and nothing simply never existed.

It brought his world down to a halt. It stopped its clocks, fracturing its statues, and swallowing every city square whole.

Every streetlight turned green, and every tower and dome began to seamlessly unseam, gently unbinding its declarations and constitutions, undressing the god of gods, like the billion trees, only to be carved into quintillion shelves, bearing the weight of every man's man, and every man's heaven.

Every lie laced with the truth and every truth hidden in plain sight. To him, it was to simply be blind no more.

Are you done yet?!

To whom it may concern

We are no longer fit

Unlace your shoes

Untie the ties

Turn off the news

Don't pay your rent, quit

Fuck uncondentional love

For love has its own conditions

To nurture, and to protect, to curb one's ambition

Step over your shadows foot

Walk away

Do not apologize

Let us all pretend

That we are all loved

No matter what

A room in a Palace

I wrote a note to myself of all the things I needed to buy

A pair of pants, a flip-flop, and a bottle of wine.

So I locked the door behind me, and off I went

Stepping through the streets of a town

to which name, I haven't yet learned

I wiped the sweat off my forehead, and yearned to the noons of fall

The red, amber and yellow leaves gently announce..

Is that all? the cashier by the register said

I nodded casually as the sweat still dripping off my forehead

And packed my things and towards the room in the palace, my foot steered

Thinking of a cold shower as every step drew me near

There, I sat on the edge of the bed

With a note crumbled beside me, left behind unread.

milk run

A nearby pond

Empty parking spot

Skipping rock

The crock of a frog

Wrist aching

Turn your back on it

Or wait, for one more prance

A ripple...

A final chance

To say goodbye

Where was I?

The Beach

When you stare at the sea

What do you see?

The beauty of creation, she replied

What else?

I often wonder what its like down there

Down where?

The sea silly

Fish? I replied

Ofcourse!

Allegis

Duh

Sunken Ships and submarines

Plastic waste and mercury

Pirates and refugees

Cities and streets

Empires now buried deep

And soon, we shall be

What? She asked

Buried along with them

Ok, she replied, I think I’m going for a swim now

Past Lives

I witnessed a snake coiling on itself in a dream

Not the usual theme that I dream of every night

And before I forget, I took a pencil and I wrote it down

A snake coiling on itself in my dream

Years went by and I forgot about my dream

Falling and running from someone or something

were the usual theme

Years went by

Now I'm biding life one final goodbye

And in my last moments

I had one regret

About a dream I chose to forget

A desire inhibited

By a memory inherited

snakes warning sign

My Numb Foot

Dancing in the blue lights

Red carpets, rolled out for me

Signs of affection

Pleading for my attention

As if they are incomplete

Is this a dream?

I’m a nobody

And this is where you are wrong my friend

You are the star

Well, technically speaking, your thoughts are

A pitch!

Perfected and packaged

It is all you

The unique you

Out of 400 Million, you are the one

And out of the 8 billion

Well, you are someone

A limited once-in-a-lifetime chance

Think about it, though we urge you to haste

No time to waste

The offer still stands

And the numbers confirm the growth and the success rate

And if it is still unclear to you

Then allow me to explain

It all started with a pair of thumbs

Then the fire, and the drums

The tools we made, and the roads we paved

Look at how far we become

We're forever here

The past

The present

And future

We are the self-starters, the visionaries, the community-based

Motivated and committed

To a Greener earth, rainbows without the rain, and hard-working blue-collar folks

Just like you!

Your thoughts start to shrink

And your stature begins to crumble

Bits and pieces are now scattered

across the horizon

And into the cloud

Until nothing is left

With you

Besides you

The you, you once knew

I am

A fetus in an incubator

Sustained by a system operator

I suck on my thumb

Oh, comfort, you are all I have left

Please don't leave me

My foot becoming numb

And my belly starts to rumble

So I begin to stretch and cook myself a delicious meal

Tidy up the space, and dispense off my essence

And wipe away the trace

I shower myself in the blue lights

And I wait.

Until my foot becomes numb

again...

If it's all part of a greater plan

Can it still be called fate?
